Brian Kern isn't a manufacturer by trade.

He's a career banker who grew up in Galesburg, Illinois, a manufacturing hub in western Illinois. Inspired in part by his father, who worked in manufacturing, Brian has spent more than 26 years building relationships with privately-held manufacturers across Chicagoland.

Over the years, he's become deeply involved with the Technology & Manufacturing Association, serving on multiple committees, acting as a TMA Ambassador, and spending time with manufacturers.

Here, Brian stands next to a collaborative robotic arm at the TMA Training Center. Working alongside CNC equipment like the Doosan-Robotics machine behind him, technology like this helps manufacturers automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity.

Brian doesn't finance this type of equipment because he read about it in a brochure. He understands it because he takes the time to learn how his clients' businesses operate, the challenges they face, and where they are investing for the future.
