I wrote an Op-Ed that was published in the Woodstock Independent this week, and I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read it.

Housing counseling helps people stay in their homes, avoid foreclosure and eviction, and find a path forward when they are facing a housing crisis. But right now, nonprofit housing counseling agencies across the country are facing serious funding challenges at a time when families need these services more than ever.

This work matters. It matters to the families we serve, and it matters to the health and stability of our communities.

If it matters to you too, and I truly hope it does, please speak up. Contact your county board members and your elected officials, both locally and nationally. Share this article. Talk about what is happening. Remind the people making funding decisions that housing counseling isn't just another line in a budget. There are real people and real families behind those numbers.

Sometimes it feels like one voice can't make much of a difference. But enough voices together absolutely can. Please help us make some noise.
