Susan Stassen’s commitment runs deep. Every year for the past 20 years, the Gavers Community Cancer Foundation hosts a Barndance in Woodstock, IL and for 18 of those years, Susan has volunteer each and every one of them. It takes about five hours and 120 volunteers to set things up for the evening event and Susan is pictured in the morning before the big fundraiser taking the flower centerpieces to their tables. All proceeds from the fundraising event supports the foundation in its goals to raise cancer awareness through education and screenings, improve cancer care for local residents, and raise funds for cancer research.
