More homes on the market can be a good thing for buyers, but it doesn't automatically make the decision easier.
National housing data shows more inventory than we saw this time last year, while home prices have held fairly steady in many areas. In other words, buyers may have more choices, but they are still being careful with the numbers.
And honestly, that makes sense.
A home has to work beyond the listing price. Buyers are also looking at:
• monthly payment
• taxes and insurance
• upfront costs
• home condition
• location
• overall value
For sellers and agents, that means pricing and presentation still matter.
For buyers, it means preparation still matters.
More options can help, but the right home still needs to make sense for the budget.
