Two members of our team, Steph Wahlund and Steve Greavu, were honored to speak at the Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last week to an audience of more than 100 attendees on the topic of Scaling Your Practice.

As Director of People, Steph focused on identifying the right role to hire next, preserving company culture during periods of growth, and shared best practices for hiring, promoting, and developing employees.

Steve, our Director of Business Strategy & Practice Management, outlined the different advisor profiles we seek to hire and develop on our team. He also explored best practices for client service, including the services we provide and the cadence of client meetings.

Thank you to all our clients who attended our Young Professionals Night at the St. Paul Saints game yesterday! We kicked off the afternoon with a session tailored to folks ranging from 16 to 30 years old. The purpose was to share best practices for those first starting to save, starting their first job, starting a family, etc.

If you were not able to attend, keep an eye out for invitations like this in the future as we partner with the next generation to pursue their financial goals.

Northwestern Mutual's latest Personal Prosperity Index (see the link below) found that younger generations report feeling less financially settled than older generations.

For families thinking about leaving a legacy to support the generations that follow, this is an important insight.

Passing wealth to the next generation is one piece of the conversation. Helping them feel prepared to make decisions around that wealth is another.

In our work with families, productive conversations often start well before assets change hands. They include questions around values, charitable goals, business ownership, succession planning and what each generation hopes to build over time.
