🍂 FALL BACK FOR FIRE SAFETY! 🍂

Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Before going to bed Saturday night, remember to turn your clocks back one hour.

While changing your clocks, take an extra moment to protect your home:

🔋 Replace removable smoke detector batteries
🚨 Test every smoke and carbon monoxide alarm
📅 Replace alarms that are more than 10 years old
🏠 Make sure everyone knows your home escape plan

Change your clocks. Change your batteries. It could save a life!

🔥 Keep costumes and decorations away from open flames.
🍬 Have an adult inspect all treats.
🚗 Drivers—slow down and remain alert.

🍬 HALLOWEEN SAFETY WEEK — OCTOBER 30 🍬

Today’s tip: Check treats before eating!

Children should wait until they return home before eating any treats. An adult should inspect everything and discard items that are opened, unwrapped or appear unusual.

Young trick-or-treaters should always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Tomorrow is Halloween—let’s make it safe and fun for everyone!

🏠 HALLOWEEN SAFETY WEEK — OCTOBER 29 🏠

Today’s tip: Make your home safe for visitors!

Clear leaves, decorations, extension cords and other tripping hazards from sidewalks, porches and steps. Make sure outdoor walkways are well-lighted.

Keep pets secured and use battery-operated lights in pumpkins and decorations.

Help every trick-or-treater reach your door safely!

📞 911 Dispatchers – The calm voices behind the chaos and the first link in the emergency response chain.

First responders miss holidays, family dinners, birthdays, and countless special moments to make sure someone else's family has a chance to celebrate theirs.

🔦 HALLOWEEN SAFETY WEEK — OCTOBER 28 🔦

Today’s tip: Plan a safe trick-or-treating route!

Stay on sidewalks whenever possible and cross streets only at corners or marked crosswalks. Look left, right and left again before crossing.

Drivers—slow down, stay alert and watch carefully for trick-or-treaters!

👻 HALLOWEEN SAFETY WEEK — OCTOBER 27 👻

Today’s tip: Make costumes safe and visible!

Choose costumes made from flame-resistant materials. Avoid loose or trailing fabric that could come in contact with candles or other heat sources.

Add reflective tape, carry a flashlight and make sure masks do not block your child’s vision.

Be bright. Be seen. Be safe!

Today’s tip: Choose safer decorations!

Use battery-operated candles or flashlights inside jack-o’-lanterns instead of open flames. Keep decorations away from fireplaces, heaters, light bulbs and anything else that produces heat.

A little preparation can prevent a Halloween fire.
