🌧️ With the heavy rain and localized flooding our area experienced last night, we wanted to share an important reminder:
Homeowners insurance does not equal flood insurance.

A standard homeowners policy does not cover damage to your property caused by flooding. Flood coverage requires a separate policy, which may be available through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) if you live in a participating community.

Don’t wait until after a storm to find out you aren’t covered. If you have questions about flood insurance or would like help getting a flood quote through FEMA, give our office a call at 570-327-8383.

Did you know you don’t have to carry the same deductible for comprehensive and collision coverage?

🦌 Comprehensive: Covers things like hitting a deer, hail, theft, vandalism, and glass damage. Many customers choose a lower comprehensive deductible to help keep their out-of-pocket cost down when the unexpected happens.

🚗 Collision: Covers damage to your vehicle from hitting another vehicle or object. Choosing a higher collision deductible can help lower your premium, but it also means you’ll pay more out of pocket if you have a collision claim.

DEP declares a statewide Code Red 🔴 Air Quality Action Day for particulate matter (PM2.5) for Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Wildfire smoke from Canada and Minnesota will be entering Pennsylvania’s northernmost counties and pushing into southern counties Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, creating Code Red concentrations of PM2.5.

Residents and businesses within the Air Quality Alert areas are strongly encouraged to voluntarily help reduce fine particulate matter air pollution by:

- Avoiding the use of gas-powered lawn and garden equipment;
- Reducing or eliminating fireplace and wood stove use; and
- Avoiding the open burning of leaves, trash, and other materials

Residents are strongly encouraged to check www.airnow.gov for current conditions in their area.
