PA property taxes are based on the assessed value of your home and determined by a county or municipality assessor.

You can appeal your property’s assessment each year if you believe and can prove it is over-assessed and does not accurately reflect the fair market value.
To appeal, you must fill out forms and provide credible, relevant evidence to establish your case (professional appraisals, recent comparable sales in your neighborhood, property condition, etc.) to the County Board of Assessment Appeals by these deadlines. If you don’t want to compile those, you can hire a local real estate attorney for help.
