We had a fantastic morning at Glen Oaks for our annual Growth and Learning Day! The event brought together advisors, team members, and interns for an enriching experience filled with valuable insights.

Our program, hosted by Jeff Byrn, featured dynamic speakers who inspired and educated our audience. Chad "Chadalyst" Johnson from Maxwell Leadership delivered a powerful presentation on awakening and developing the leader within. He emphasized three key principles: valuing people, believing in people, and unconditionally loving people.

We were also joined by Jason Smith, Vice President of Public Investments here at Northwestern Mutual, and Matt Taylor from Signature Bank. Jason shared his expertise, while Matt discussed innovative lending solutions for advisors, ensembles, and clients.

The day proved to be an incredible learning opportunity for everyone involved. Our College Financial Representatives (CFRs) were especially engaged and grateful to gain valuable knowledge to support their growth.

Our annual Impact Day brought our teams together to deliver comfort, care, and celebration across Central Iowa. In the Urbandale Board Room, volunteers crafted tie blankets, each paired with an encouraging note, for pediatric cancer organizations including Breslyn’s Blankets of Love, Children’s Cancer Connection, and Ronald McDonald House Charities as “Welcome Blankets” at the Ronald McDonald House. At the Network Office, colleagues made fleece beds for Animal Lifeline of Iowa, providing a warm place to rest for special-needs cats and dogs. Teams also assembled Birthday Party Bags for WayPoint Resources, ensuring families can mark their children’s milestones with joy and dignity, even when budgets are tight.

Beyond our offices, volunteers cared for shared spaces and neighbors in meaningful ways. Teams picked up litter during a park cleanup and respectfully gathered Memorial Day flags at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa, volunteers baked sweet treats for dozens of guests, adding a touch of home during difficult times. Company-wide, handwritten notes of gratitude were prepared for first responders, to be delivered by our Philanthropy Committee. Together, these actions strengthened our community, honored those who serve, and underscored our commitment to service with heart and professionalism.

Our second annual CFR Connect & Collect Event was a huge success! Team members came together to donate gently used professional clothing, from suits and blouses to dress pants and ties, giving our Summer 2026 CFR interns a chance to refresh their work wardrobes without the expense. It was inspiring to see everyone declutter for a great cause and empower our interns as they embark on their new journeys.

Beyond the clothing exchange, the event created a wonderful space for agency-wide networking. Colleagues from different teams mingled, shared experiences, and welcomed our newest members with open arms. We’re proud to foster this spirit of community, support, and connection!
