When I joined the mortgage industry in 1998, I quickly discovered my passion for helping clients reach their goals. Five years in, I realized that same passion extended to helping LOs reach theirs, which eventually led me to a place with the tools and support to take my team's success to the next level.
Our industry moves faster than ever, and it's easy to get numb to what everyone's selling. After years working with some of the best leadership coaches in the business, it really comes down to a few simple questions: does your company, your team, your manager truly understand your goals, your definition of success? Your definition is different from the person sitting next to you, so if the answer is "no" or "I'm not sure," are you really in the best place?
This isn't one-size-fits-all, and it can't be coached that way. Pro athletes seek out coaches and teams who understand exactly what they need to perform at their highest level. Since joining loanDepot, I haven't found a box left unchecked for producers at any level.
Take a few minutes and think about your definition of success. If you're not there yet, ask yourself why — and if the answer is "I'm missing ___" or "I wish I had ___," it might be worth a conversation.
