We invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 9 for our next parenting webinar, sponsored by ASU Reach Institute's Center for Resilient Families and Mental Health America. The focus for this webinar is supporting parents going through a separation.
About the webinar:
Parenting through separation: Supporting your child's mental health and your own
When a family is going through a separation, it can feel like everything is changing at once. Difficult family transitions can bring up many emotions and stress for both parents and children. This session will focus on how to create a supportive environment during separation and divorce, for your children and for yourself. We will look at ways to take care of your own feelings so you have the energy to help your children. We’ll also talk about how to help kids feel steady when their lives look different from what they are used to.
During this free, 60-minute session we will:
• Explore youth behavior: Why kids might act out when they are stressed and how to help them.
• Identify where to get help: How parents can find support during these difficult transitions.
• Discuss how to keep kids’ mental well-being a priority: How to protect and support your child’s well-being during big life changes.
Meet the Speakers:
• Megan Schaefer, PhD, Pediatric Psychologist, Nationwide Children’s Hospital; Clinical Assistant Professor, The Ohio State University
• Luis Resendez, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Founder of Vida Emotional Wellness, Author, and Men's Mental Health Specialist
• Aubrey Rhodes, PhD , Clinical Psychologist, Human-AI Researcher, and Health Equity Advocate in Digital Mental Health
