🏠 **𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥’𝕤 𝕌𝕡 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 ℝ𝕖𝕒𝕝 𝔼𝕤𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕖?**

Treasury yields and mortgage rates have been riding a rocket ship lately, and the housing market is definitely feeling the heat!

Here is what’s going down in real estate right now:

* **Sales Taking a Dip:** Both pending sales and existing home sales took a **-7% hit month-over-month** in September. Buyers are definitely hitting the pause button to see what happens next!

* **Builder Confidence in the Basement:** Homebuilder confidence plunged to an index reading of **29 in October**—that’s the lowest level we’ve seen in 14 years!

* **Fingers Crossed for the Fed:** Everyone in real estate is collectively holding their breath, hoping the Fed stays pat and leaves rates alone next week!

Looking for some good news to start your week? Here is your quick, cheerful breakdown of what’s happening in the economy, housing market, and even the kitchen!

Inflation Is Taking a Chill Pill

The latest inflation numbers came in lower than expected! Core inflation held steady at 3%, and the Dallas Fed’s Trimmed Mean index is floating near a super cozy 2.2% (way closer to that 2% sweet spot). Downward price pressure is definitely losing its edge!

The Job Market: Slow Walk vs. Private Sprint

While the official BLS report logged a quiet 29,000 new jobs for September, the private sector didn't get the slow-mo memo! ADP reported a hearty 90,000 private-sector jobs added, with job-hoppers snagging average pay raises of 7.3%! 💰

Your Home Is Quietly Building Wealth

According to Case-Shiller and FHFA, home prices are steadily climbing. If you own a house, your cozy kingdom is quietly adding equity to your net worth while you sleep!

The Economic Engine Is Still Humming

Q2 GDP growth got bumped up to a solid 2.2%, powered by strong consumer spending and massive investments in tech and AI data centers.

Economic Plot Twist: The Fed Hit the "Rate Hike" Button!

Hold onto your calculators! The Federal Reserve just voted unanimously to raise interest rates by 25 basis points for the first time in three years. Chair Kevin Warsh made it clear: inflation is still too high, and the Fed is determined to cool things down.

Here is what else is going down in this week's financial drama:

Home Builders are Hitting Pause: New home construction dropped 2.6% in August, and builder confidence dipped to 32. But hey, pending home sales actually edged up 0.3%, proving buyers are still out there making moves!

Retail Therapy is Alive: Retail sales jumped 1.2% in August. Sure, higher gas prices helped drive that number up, but back-to-school shopping definitely did its heavy lifting too.
The Gig Economy Hustle: Jobless claims look low (196k), but continuing claims remain elevated at 1.73M—suggesting folks are taking longer to find standard desks or pivoting to freelancing.

Bake Away the Stress: It’s National Pecan Cookie Day! Celebrate by whipping up some warm Chocolate Chip Pecan cookies before checking mortgage updates.

What’s your take—are you holding out for lower rates or jumping into the market now? Drop your thoughts below! 👇

𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻) 📉🥱

The Federal Reserve just hit the snooze button for the 5th time in a row, keeping interest rates steady. Inflation is cooling down slightly (yay!), but home prices are still stubbornly creeping up. It's a great time to be a homeowner, and a mildly depressing time to be a homebuyer. 🏠💸

Meanwhile, the economy is growing at a sluggish 1.5% pace, and the job market is taking its sweet time.

Honestly? The most important takeaway this week is a killer Peach & Blueberry Crumble recipe to help you eat your financial feelings. 🍑🥧

People actually bought more new houses in June—mostly the affordable ones —which temporarily led everyone to think home values are crashing.

(Spoiler: They aren't; your house is still quietly making you richer).

Meanwhile, geopolitical drama is giving oil prices major anxiety, and unemployment claims just hit a 1969 low! But don't celebrate yet—that's mostly because the government is cracking down on fraud and everyone else is busy driving for Uber instead of filing for benefits.

To help you cope with the impending stress of next week's Federal Reserve meeting, the newsletter highly recommends whipping up some homemade chocolate mousse. Eat your economic feelings, folks!

Hi everyone, here's the latest scoop: Summary of Real Estate News in Brief:

Have a great weekend!

While Congress (ROAD to Housing Act) and builders (price discounts & incentives) are trying to get more homes built and sold, the resumption of the US/Iran war has sent mortgage rates higher, hitting affordability just when it was starting to improve.

It was a weekend of absolute turbulence and high drama—whether you were sweating over the housing market or screaming at the TV during the World Cup. Here is the short and sweet rundown of the rollercoaster:

𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 & 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘆: Talk about a tense weekend! Spain and Argentina served up an exhausting, dramatic 2026 FIFA World Cup final. After a cagey, scoreless 90 minutes and a red card for Argentina's Enzo Fernández, Spain's Ferran Torres finally broke the deadlock in the 106th minute. Spain claimed the trophy 1-0, denying Lionel Messi back-to-back titles and leaving Argentina fans in need of a serious distraction.

𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹: Back in the real world, prices actually dropped a tiny bit (down 0.4%), meaning the Federal Reserve can probably keep its hands off the "raise rates" panic button for now.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘆: They broke ground on 19% more homes in June, but their confidence is still in the dumps because building is expensive and mortgage rates are annoying.

𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁: Pending home sales dropped 5.4%, ending a four-month winning streak. It turns out buyers don't like high mortgage rates. Who knew?
