🙌🏾 To GOD be the Glory for all the things He has done! 🙏🏾
Many people don’t know this, but for the last 113 days I’ve been under intense medical treatment for Necrotizing Fasciitis — a deadly flesh-eating bacteria that can become fatal if left untreated. 🏥⚠️
What started as a simple trip to urgent care because of a rash turned into doctors discovering a 42cm mass growing in my abdomen that had to be removed immediately. Over the next 10 days, I underwent 3 surgeries to remove all of it. After that, the doctors made the decision to allow the wound to heal naturally to avoid reinfection.
For months, I was literally walking around with a 42cm incision sealed with plastic and connected to a wound vac machine. 😳
It is nothing short of a miracle. Had I waited any longer, the infection could have spread and I could have become septic or toxic. God truly covered me. 🙏🏾✨
And now… I’m beyond grateful to say that as of 3PM yesterday, all major treatments and hospital visits are COMPLETE! 🎉🙌🏾 Of course I still have follow-up appointments, but the hardest part is finally behind me.
First and foremost, THANK YOU JESUS! ❤️ I did not deserve His grace, nor could I ever earn it — He is simply amazing.
To my incredible wife 💜 — thank you for keeping me accountable with meal prep, exercise, and keeping me away from my beloved sugar cravings 🍩😂 that would’ve slowed my healing process.
To my mom “Swag” 💪🏾 and my other mom affectionately known as “St. Louis” 🏙️ — thank you for stepping in and helping carry the load. St. Louis even relocated from California to help with treatments and daily responsibilities until she had to return home. I’ll never forget that sacrifice.
To my medical care team 👨🏽⚕️👩🏽⚕️ — thank you for taking care of me through one of the toughest seasons of my life.
And to my fraternity brothers, family, and friends who called, checked in, prayed, and showed love — THANK YOU ❤️
One thing I learned through all of this:
Trust yourself and your loved ones. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Go get checked out. Early action can save your life. ⚠️
Now… it’s BACK TO WORK!!!! 💼🔥
