Senior Sunday. 🎓🩷

I blinked and here we are.

She grew up surrounded by family who loved her fiercely, grounded in her faith, and shaped by a world that has not always been easy.

And somehow all of it turned her into exactly who she was meant to be.

A young woman who knows what she believes. Who shows up for the people she loves. Who has always found her own way when it comes to learning and growing academically.

She has never needed anyone to push her in the classroom. That drive has always been hers. 🩷

Now if only that same energy would find its way to the chores list 😂

She is a young woman with a heart full of faith and I am so proud I get to be her mom. 🥹

This is her year and I cannot wait to watch every single moment of it. 🩷🙏

We were evacuated last Saturday. 😮‍💨

This week FOX Weather called and asked me to share our story.

I am not a reporter. I am not an expert. I am just someone who’s lived in Spokane my entire life, loves this community, and watched the wind shift from my front porch wondering if we would have to leave again.

We came home. Not everyone did.

But Spokane is still here. And we are going to be okay.

This one is for every single person who is still figuring out what comes next.

This was the reality for thousands of North Spokane families last Saturday. 😮‍💨

Watching the wind shift. Watching where the Spokane Complex Fire was moving. Wondering if evacuation orders were coming again.

The Old Trails Fire, Autumn Lane Fire, and Fairview Fire changed everything for so many people in Spokane and Eastern Washington in a matter of hours.

Felt strange leaving Spokane this week. 😮‍💨

But the families affected by the Spokane Complex Fire are going to need someone in their corner when they are ready to figure out what comes next on the housing side.
