September is Emergency Preparedness Month, a reminder that while we can't prevent every emergency, we can take steps to be ready for them.

The reality is that emergencies don’t all look the same. Whether you're facing a wildfire, power outage, winter storm, or another unexpected event, being prepared starts with having the essentials on hand and a plan in place.

Think about what you'll need if you're asked to evacuate or shelter at home for an extended period: water, nonperishable food, medications, important documents, backup power sources, and supplies for everyone in your household, including pets. Taking small steps today can make a big difference when every minute counts.
