Today, August 26th, we celebrate National Women’s Equality Day and commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote. 🗳️✨

Equality isn’t just about having a voice at the ballot box—it’s also about having a seat at the table in business, leadership, and financial independence. True empowerment comes when women have the tools, confidence, and opportunity to build lasting wealth, protect their families, and shape their own legacies.

Today, we honor the trailblazers who paved the way and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the women of today and tomorrow.

How are you celebrating the women who inspire you today? Let’s highlight them in the comments below! 👇

🌞 Did you know schools in the South tend to start the school year the earliest? 🌞

📚 As the back-to-school season approaches, approximately 54.1 million K-12 students and 5.7 million teachers are gearing up to head back to classrooms this fall. 📚

🍎 Teachers are the largest group among the nearly 10 million individuals employed in the country's elementary and secondary schools, which also include principals, school bus monitors, teaching assistants, and janitors. 🚌👩‍🏫

📝✨ August is Make-A-Will Month! ✨📝

In that spirit, we're raising awareness about the importance of creating a will. Now is the perfect time to have your wishes clearly outlined. Or if you have a will, August is a great time to review it and see if it remains aligned with your wishes.

Creating a will isn't just about assets; it's about leaving a legacy, making your intentions known, and thinking about your loved ones' future.

Here are a few reasons why having an up-to-date will is essential:
Your Loved Ones: Outline how you want your family to be cared for, especially any children under 18.
Manage Conflicts: Clear instructions can help during disputes and misunderstandings.
Your Legacy: How will your assets, possessions, and digital presence be distributed and managed?
Have Your Affairs in Order: Comfort for you and your loved ones.

Let's make this month count by taking steps towards your future! Have you already started? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below. 👇💬

Why Creating or Updating Your Will Matters More Than Ever
There are so many reasons to create a will this month, but here are three big ones to consider — and a few deeper insights that often get overlooked:

1️⃣ Direct Your Property With Intention
A will is your voice when you’re no longer able to speak for yourself. It tells the courts exactly how you want your property, assets, and personal items distributed.
Without one, state laws decide for you — and those default rules rarely reflect the unique relationships, blended families, or personal wishes you may have.

2️⃣ Provide Clear Instructions to the Probate Court
Probate doesn’t have to be complicated, but without guidance, it can become stressful and expensive for your loved ones.
A well‑written will streamlines the process, reduces delays, and gives the court a roadmap to follow. This can make a world of difference during an already emotional time.

3️⃣ Designate Guardianship for Minor Children
If you have children under 18, this is one of the most important decisions you can make.
A will allows you to choose who will care for your children — someone you trust, someone who shares your values, and someone who will love them well.
Without a will, the courts make that decision based solely on legal criteria, not personal connection.

✨ Bonus Reasons People Don’t Think About:
-You can name an executor you trust to handle your affairs responsibly.
-You can protect family heirlooms or sentimental items from being lost or disputed.
-You can prevent unnecessary conflict among loved ones by making your wishes clear.
-You can support causes or organizations that matter to you.

Have you reviewed your will recently?
Life changes — marriages, divorces, new children, new assets, relocations — and your will should evolve with you. Even a quick review can ensure your wishes still match your reality.

If you’d like help understanding how your will fits into your overall financial protection plan, I’m here to guide you through it with clarity and care.
