Rates ended last week at their lowest point since late September.

Where things landed (national averages, Mortgage News Daily, 10/30):
• 30-yr fixed: 7.27%, down 0.06 for the week
• 15-yr fixed: 6.92%, down 0.06
• FHA: 6.90%, down 0.08
• VA: 6.91%, down 0.08
• Jumbo: 7.55%, down 0.05

On the housing side, new listings are down 1.5% from a year ago (Realtor.com) and single-family completions are down about 11% this year. Fewer homes coming to market means pricing and prep matter more than ever if you're selling, and a quick move matters if you're buying.
