Iran deal is close, no it’s not, yes it is, off, now back on. The markets have priced in the oil price concerns and are ready to move downward again. But stability in the low 6s is welcome news after the roller coaster of 2022-2024.

Who needs CE? We put this class together a couple years ago and we get asked all the time where we get our analysis from. The answer is it’s our own analysis. We often talk about going local, this is one reason why. We are more and more seeing AI being used to get information or make decisions. Big lenders are trying to automate decisions but details are missed or guidelines are misinterpreted. Don’t go for the quick “pre-approved in minutes” lender. Everyone has a different story and telling that to your local mortgage broker is one of the most important parts of this decision.

As AI spreads across mortgage servicing, valuation and customer communications, lenders need to prepare for the reputational, operational and regulatory fallout of errors at scale.

Rates have moved back down. Cease fire talks, alternate shipping routes and supply lines have given the market optimism that prices and rates will come down. We are seeing rates stabilize again and back down close to lows of the last three years.
