🌊 **"I'm not in a flood zone, so I don't need flood insurance."**

I hear this all the time, but flood maps don't tell the whole story.

Heavy rain, overflowing waterways, poor drainage, and hurricanes can all cause flooding, even outside designated high-risk flood zones. In fact, many flood insurance claims come from low- to moderate-risk areas.

Another important thing to know: **Most homeowners insurance policies don't cover flood damage.** Flood insurance is a separate policy, and there may be both National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and private flood insurance options available.

💡 **Insurance Tip of the Week: ** Don't let your flood zone be the only factor in your decision. Understanding your options today can help protect your home tomorrow.
