🍩 Happy National Donut Day! 🍩

Did you know National Donut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June and was established by the The Salvation Army in 1938?

The day honors the "Donut Lassies," a group of female volunteers who served donuts and provided comfort to U.S. soldiers stationed in France during World War I. Their small acts of kindness made a big difference during difficult times.

It got me thinking about insurance.

Just like those volunteers helped people prepare for and navigate challenging situations, insurance is there to help protect what matters most when life doesn't go according to plan. The goal isn't to think about the unexpected every day—it's simply knowing you have a plan when you need one.

And much like a donut, nobody notices the hole in the middle until something's missing. 🍩

Big shoutout to the incredible work being done by From Rockford and the Liam Foundation for recently hosting a community free store at Fairgrounds Park that helped dozens of local families in need. Families were able to receive filled bags of groceries, clothing, household necessities, and other much-needed support — all made possible through people who truly care about this community.

Special credit and recognition to Ari Perez for helping organize and see this event through. The impact made on so many families does not go unnoticed.

Beyond events like this, From Rockford also helps connect families with diaper assistance and other valuable community resources, and there are already plans in motion to do even more throughout the summer.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, our team at Brian Boyer State Farm would like to take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and service will never be forgotten.
