Get Covered Illinois has extended the deadline to enroll in individual coverage! From now until January 31st, you can enroll for a February 1st effective date.
My motto with these things is: Just because you *can* do it yourself doesn't necessarily mean you *should*. The application process is extensive and if you check the wrong box, your savings will go out the window! I make it quick and easy to enroll.

Happy Halloween 🎃
This has been my favorite holiday for many years and I'll tell you why
My ex-husband was not a romantic guy and he didn't want to have to answer the door and pass out candy so much so that, not only did he not want our porch lights on, but he didn't want any lights on in the house on this day. We would eat by candlelight and I would joke that it was the most romantic night of the year.
Fast forward and I'm a stepmom celebrating with my stepdaughters. We would go to Fright Fest at Great America every year and be sure to trick or treat in a different neighborhood on Halloween night.
During lockdown, we really got it right. I wanted to make sure we still had fun so I filled easter eggs and hid them around the yard. After dark, we sent the girls out with flashlights to hunt for the "Halloween eggs". Their dad hid in the bushes and would start up the chainsaw (sans blade) and chase after them. Each year after that, they invited friends over and it became quite the tradition!

Wishing you a safe and spooktacular Halloween filled with fun, laughter, and a little bit of magic. 🕸

Diamond rings and roses are nice and all but if I could go back in time, I would tell my younger self - Get you a man that doesn't hesitate to provide you with health insurance......

I was on the phone recently with a client I've had for years. He was asking me lots of questions about coverage in several scenarios.

* What insurance to take if jobs change?
* What if jobs change this December as opposed to spring?
* Are these drugs covered?

But he wasn't asking for himself - he was asking for his wife who had beaten cancer and is still taking some very important drugs. Not only was it significant that he was doing all the legwork, but the only thing he ever said about cost was that he doesn't care a thing about it as long as everything she needed would be covered when she needed it covered. He even went into detail describing what a specific drug did and why it was better for his beloved wife than the less expensive alternative.

This hit me on a personal level. When I got married in 2010, my [now ex] husband refused to add me to his employer health insurance. He wanted as much of his paycheck as he was entitled to.

There are two types of men in this world. Get you one that won't hesitate to provide you with health insurance!!
