First-time buyers, this is one of the best places to start:

Talk to someone you trust.

Not a random website.
Not an online form that sends your information everywhere.
A real person who can connect you with other trusted local professionals.

Michelle Myers and I talked about why the Realtor/lender relationship matters so much, especially when you are buying your first home.

You should not have to figure all of this out alone.

If you have questions, ask. We are both happy to help.

Buying a home can feel overwhelming.

That’s why I try to make the process clear, calm, and easy to understand.

I’m grateful for these kind words from recent clients. The best part of my job is helping people feel informed before they make big decisions.

If you’re thinking about buying or refinancing and you have questions, I’m happy to talk through it.

Yesterday was a good day.

We kicked off the first session of The Mortgage Professor’s Relationship & Visibility Series with a great group of local referral partners.

The focus was simple: relationships, visibility, and the systems that help people stay connected long before they need to ask for business.

I appreciate everyone who showed up ready to learn, share, and do the work.

Local business still works best when people know each other, trust each other, and keep showing up.

Today, we start the first class in the Relationship & Visibility Series.

Rusty and I have been working through the details for weeks, and our last recap meeting happened right here at Blackbird Books & Coffee on Sunday afternoon.

The goal is simple: help local referral partners stay visible, build stronger relationships, and create better conversations in their own businesses.

I’m looking forward to the room, the questions, and the conversations.

Happy Pride Month.

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to visit the LGBT Center of Raleigh's new location alongside friends, referral partners, and community leaders.

One of the things I've learned after more than 30 years in Raleigh is that strong communities are built when people take the time to show up, listen, and get to know one another.

I appreciate the work the LGBT Center does to create connection and support for people across our community.

Showing up matters.

Thinking about buying your first home?

Here are three mistakes I see first-time homebuyers make all the time:

1️⃣ Shopping for homes before getting pre-approved

2️⃣ Opening new credit accounts before closing

3️⃣ Trusting online mortgage calculators

The truth is, buying a home is rarely as simple as a website makes it look.

A quick conversation can save you time, frustration, and surprises later.

If you've got questions, ask.

I'm happy to explain it.

Why am I hosting this workshop series?

Because I've watched too many good Realtors struggle with consistency.

Most already understand the importance of relationships and trust. The challenge is building a system that keeps those things moving forward week after week.

That's what we'll be working on together.

If that sounds familiar, I'd love to have you join us.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that good advisors do more than just give answers.

They help people make confident decisions.

I recently sat down with my friend to talk about financial planning, budgeting, goals, and why education matters so much when helping people prepare for the future.

One part of the conversation really stood out to me:

“It’s not always about how much money you make. It’s about how you use the dollars you do make.”

That’s the kind of practical, real-world guidance people actually need.

I’m grateful to know and work alongside local professionals like Craig Morrill, who genuinely care about helping people move forward with confidence.
