Living with Cats can really be rewarding if not challenging at times. We’ve rescued dozens and dozens of cats thru the years. Here’s some basic tips that should help keep your feline happy, at least we hope so. Good Luck!

β€’ π™π™€π™€π˜Ώπ™„π™‰π™‚
Cats should eat at least twice a day or on a regular schedule of sorts. We leave food in the bowl 24 hours a day so they can free-feed when they want to.

β€’ π™€π™“π™€π™π˜Ύπ™„π™Žπ™€
Get your cat moving by having toys available or teasing them with a laser-pointer. Want to go all out? get them a pet treadmill. Our dog plays with our cats, this works out really-well. Cats that can be kept safe can get their exercise by running around the back yard.

β€’ π™€π™‰π™‘π™„π™π™Šπ™‰π™ˆπ™€π™‰π™
Provide clean, comfortable places to sleep. A litter box in a quiet place, and several places to hang out. Something like a cat condo with a higher up view works great.

β€’ π™ƒπ™€π˜Όπ™‡π™π™ƒ
Make regular trips to the vet, feed them a nutritious diet and have several water sources to keep them hydrated. Get your cat spayed/neutered and have them microchipped in the event they decide to make an unauthorized trip around the neighborhood. Trips to the vet can be a challenge if Fluffy doesn’t want to get in the pet taxi.

Seniors 65 and older can consider a combination of diet and exercise to promote healthy aging:

β€’ Diet: Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, beans, and low-fat or fat-free dairy. Limit empty calories like sugars and foods with little nutritional value. Avoid fad diets.

β€’ Exercise: Incorporate a variety of exercises into your routine, including aerobic exercise, strength training, balance exercises, and flexibility exercises:

β€’ Consider Walking, Cycling, Resistance training & Aerobic exercise

If you’re wondering how to choose a Medicare drug plan that works for you, the best way is to start by looking at your priorities.

See if any of these apply to you:

~I take specific drugs.
~I want extra protection from high prescription drug costs.
~I want my drug expenses to be balanced throughout the year.
~I don't have many drug costs now, but I want coverage for peace of mind and to avoid future penalties.
~I like the extra benefits and lower costs available by getting my health care and prescription drug coverage from one plan, and I’m willing to pick a drug plan with restrictions.

The CDC suggest 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise for generally fit Americans aged 65 and older. Even though this sounds like a lot, this can be broken down into 10 or 15-minute blocks of exercise two times or more, per day.

Approximately 66 million people are enrolled in Medicare, to include original Medicare Parts A & B and Medicare Advantage, Part C.

Medicare Insurance is for:

β€’ People age 65 or older and people under age 65 with certain disabilities.

Most people enroll in Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) when they’re first eligible. However, some people choose to delay enrolling into Medicare Part B, (Medical Insurance), it depends on the type of health coverage they currently have.

There are two main ways to get Medicare coverage:

(1) Original Medicare – Includes Part A and Part B. You can use any doctor or hospital that takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S. If you want drug coverage, you can join a separate Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Part D).

(2) Medicare Advantage, Part C – An "all in one" alternative to Original Medicare. These "bundled" plans include Part A, Part B, and usually Part D. Most plans offer extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn't cover – like vision, hearing, dental, and more.
