It's nearly Medicare enrollment season!

ANOC (Annual Notice Of Change) letters are arriving this week. These letters give important updates on changes in coverage in 2027.

Why does it matter? Many PDP (prescription drug plans) in Illinois and other states have been $0/mo. Next year, that is not the case. If someone doesn’t read the letter and doesn’t begin payment in 2027, they could lose prescription drug coverage and trigger a lifetime penalty.

If you know anyone on Medicare, remind them to check their coverage during the Oct 15 to Dec 7 enrollment period.

Last Monday was one of those days where every customer service experience I had as the customer was a bad one. It was another reminder how important it is for my clients to have an advocate that represents them and not the insurance companies.

What percentage of our economy is based on mistakes that companies are hoping we are too exhausted to fix?

Think of the interactions we have with our banks, insurance companies, rideshare, streaming services... How long does it take to get a problem resolved? Is it even possible with some of them? (looking at you, Uber and Lyft).

It's exhausting. Is it strategic on their end?

My takeaway: listening to the customer and doing everything you can to solve their problem is the easiest and most important thing you can do.

Being asked, “What else do you do?” is one of the greatest compliments I can receive. It tells me my clients trust me and value the guidance I provide. Often, they're asking about services that fall outside of what I personally offer, which is why maintaining a strong network of trusted professionals is so important. If I can't help directly, I want to connect people with someone who can (and someone who answers the phone and returns calls 😊).
