Valley First Credit Union

At Valley First Credit Union, we believe in the power of people helping people, strengthening communities and creating opportunities for all. Today, we honor Dolores Huerta, whose life's work exemplified that belief. A champion for working families and underserved communities, Huerta dedicated more than 70 years to advocating for dignity, opportunity and social justice. She passed away today at the age of 96, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

Her message of hope and empowerment, "Sí, se puede ("Yes, we can")," continues to remind us that meaningful change is possible when communities come together in support of one another.

We honor her legacy and the profound impact she made on countless lives.

Day

What a day! Team Day 2026 brought Valley First employees together at the Modesto Children's Garden to support our communities, connect with one another, and kick off Nourish 2027, our commitment to nourishing families, health, and communities.

Through hands-on volunteer projects, wellness activities, and a shared commitment to making a difference, we were reminded that meaningful impact starts with small actions. Whether helping a member achieve a financial goal or helping create a space where families can learn and grow, we're united by a common purpose: creating opportunities for people to thrive.

Thank you to our team for bringing this vision to life and for the positive impact you make every day in the communities we call home.

In Fresno, we attended the SCALE Success Summit alongside community leaders and professionals focused on creating growth and opportunity across the Central Valley. Access Plus Capital

Our ice cream truck made a stop at the 2026 Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority Benefit Fair, serving up sweet treats while connecting with attendees and community partners.

We joined Stanislaus Equity Partners in Modesto for the 5th Annual Business Pitch, cheering on local entrepreneurs and the ideas helping move our community forward.

We honored community and culture at the City of Riverbank Sister Cities Committee's Mexican Independence Day Celebration.

Our team also attended the Valley Sierra Small Business Development Center - SBDC's 11th Annual Women’s Business Symposium in Modesto, connecting with and supporting local women in business.

To close out the month, we joined GymStars Modesto's Fall Fest, where the Valley First ice cream truck made the festivities a little sweeter.

Thank you to the organizations, partners, and community members who welcomed us throughout September. We are proud to be part of these communities and look forward to continuing to show up, connect, and make a difference.
