After 22 years of working together, today we say goodbye to Ms. Vanny Raffety. She has been with my office since day one connecting with customers, building our office brand and serving our communities. She is beloved by her current and former co-workers, as well as the many clients we serve. On a personal note, I will forever be grateful for her loyalty and friendship. She is a force of positive energy that made our little slice of the World a better place. Thank you Vanny for 22 amazing years...may the next chapter be filled with new adventures and challenges.

Vanny surprised 2 of our longtime clients, both retired SFPD legends and Novato residents, at their favorite breakfast place yesterday. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to build relationships with many wonderful and interesting people over the years.

Today is the 20-year anniversary of the Geoff Shepherd State Farm office and thus it is a day to reflect, celebrate our clients, and share stories of challenges and fun along the way.

A quick snapshot from the last 20 years:

1. We have had five total office locations (Greenbrae, Larkspur, 3 in Novato)
2. Our book of business is a collection of businessowners, families, entreprenuers, artists, former professional athletes, Boomers, Gen Xers and so many others - with unique, fascinating backgrounds and we are lucky enough to get a glimpse into their lives.
3. Team...I may be the luckiest agent on the planet with regard to team. My team includes a former employee who is currently a VP for the company. Another who is a highly successful agent in the North Baby. A former employee, My-Lien Neal, who worked for me for 13 years. Current team includes Jen Martin (6 years), Karen Shepherd (3 years) and Vanny!
4. Vanny, Vanny, Vanny - she has been with the office since day 1. She is a force of energy that makes peoples days better and I am very proud to call her a friend and fiercely dedicated employee. She is a core piece of what the Geoff Shepherd office represents.
5. Relationships. This business is about relationships and over the last 20 years we built relationships with so many people integral to the growth and success of the business. From realtors, to lenders, to friends and families, our relationships have driven this office since day 1.
6. Daughters. What a luxury to own a business that allowed me to focus on my daughters and be engaged and involved in their Worlds. Whether coaching, attending a school event, or just grabbing a mid-week lunch with one of them, this business and my team allowed me to make my family the priority.
7. Julie - my wife. She is the voice that matters the most in my World. She is my person. She has been there every step of the way, celebrating the good times, and allowing me to lean on her in the bad. She sacrificed for me and this business and that will never go unnoticed.

We are celebrating our 15 year anniversary today at the Geoff Shepherd State Farm Office and there is plenty of gratitude to be had today.

The fundamental ingredient to running a successful business begins with your team. My situation is unique. I have one team member who has been a part of this ride since day one...day flipping one. And another who has 12 years under the belt. This is unique and rare in my business and thus they both deserved to be recognized.

Vanny Raffety was a part of this ride from day one. She is a force of nature, one who is beloved by many and a loyal, dedicated employee. It has been a great reward to watch her expand her role and build her confidence in this World of insurance. Today is also a day to recognize Vanny and her 15 years of getting it done.

My Office Manager, My-Lien Neal, is my secret weapon. The one who manages the day-to-day office duties all while ensuring that our clients get the service they deserve. She is an empathetic, hard-working role model for the entire office.

Our newest member to the team, Jen Martin, has been with us for over a year and she has been a great fit to our office culture and provided much needed help in managing office duties.

To our clients, we love what we do. We love hearing your stories and are fascinated by what you have done and accomplished. Thank you for your support.

Like a flash, 15 years under the belt and enough memories and stories to fill a book.

We are not done yet, there is plenty more work to be had and memories to make. But today we celebrate 15 years of business.
