"I don't want to get pre-approved yet β what if it expires before I find a house?"
Totally understandable worry, but here's the truth: pre-approvals typically last 90-120 days because the documents behind them go stale, not because there's some penalty for expiring. When it does expire, you don't start over β you just refresh it with updated paperwork.
The real risk isn't an expired pre-approval. It's finding the right house and not being ready to make an offer while someone else already is.
