Louisiana firefighters now have greater access to specialized emergency response training thanks to a partnership between River Parishes Community College, ExxonMobil, and the FETA-Louisiana Fire and Emergency Training Academy.

The program provides free, Louisiana-based training that helps first responders strengthen their skills while reducing the time and expense of traveling out of state. Participants receive hands-on instruction designed to prepare them for real-world emergency situations and better protect the communities they serve.

A simple act of community support can make a big difference!

Shell Norco volunteers spent time with students from Harry M. Hurst Middle School, serving hundreds of hamburgers as the 8th-grade class celebrated the end of the school year and their upcoming transition to high school.

Investing in Louisiana communities isn't just about jobs and industry. It's also about supporting students, families, and the next generation of leaders who will help shape our state's future.

Congratulations to the Class of 2030, and best of luck on the journey ahead!

What do companies look for when deciding where to invest?

According to Marc Ehrhardt, the answer is pretty simple: a skilled workforce, a predictable tax structure, and clear rules.

In this conversation with Moon Griffon, Marc discusses why predictability matters and what it means for Louisiana's economic future.

For more than a decade, Louisiana’s coastal lawsuits have been promoted as a solution for coastal restoration.

But after 13 years, what do we have to show for it?

While the lawsuits continue to move through the courts, Louisiana is still waiting for results. Meanwhile, uncertainty continues to impact investment, jobs, and future opportunity across our state.

At some point, Louisiana has to ask a simple question: how much longer should we wait?

If these lawsuits are supposed to help restore Louisiana’s coast, where’s the money?

In this conversation with Moon Griffon, GLAC Executive Director Marc Ehrhardt discusses a question many Louisianians are asking:

After years of coastal litigation, what has actually been delivered for coastal restoration?

As Marc points out, Louisiana’s oil and gas industry remains the largest private investor in coastal restoration efforts, while the lawsuits themselves have yet to produce restoration funding for the coast.

A new $1 million grant will help LSU expand efforts to protect Louisiana’s critical infrastructure, including energy, chemical, agricultural, shipping, and water treatment operations.

The funding will allow LSU’s Cybersecurity Clinic to train more students while providing security assessments and support for industries that play a vital role in Louisiana’s economy.

As Louisiana continues to grow its energy and industrial footprint, investments in workforce development and infrastructure protection help strengthen the foundation that businesses and communities rely on every day.

A new report from the Pelican Institute for Public Policy highlights the growing role out-of-state funding is playing in Louisiana’s energy debate.

According to the report, Louisiana-based anti-oil-and-gas advocacy organizations received at least $115.5 million from out-of-state donors between 2020 and 2025, with the majority of funding coming from California, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

The report raises a larger question: who should shape Louisiana’s energy future—outside donors or the people and communities who live and work here?
