🏡 How did you get into the insurance industry?

After spending 25 years in the mortgage business in the Chicago area, Michelle moved to Texas in 2015. Her sister-in-law encouraged her to get her insurance license and join an agency, so she took the leap — and nearly 10 years later, here she is!

⏳ How long have you been in insurance?

Almost 10 years!

😂 What do you enjoy most about working at Huddleston & Company?

We work hard, but we also have a lot of fun and laughs. Nothing beats laughter to help with the stress of the day!

🤝 What’s your favorite part about helping clients?

Helping clients understand their coverage and making sure they have what they need at a price they can afford.

🛡️ What’s one thing you wish more people knew about insurance?

Insurance isn't one-size-fits-all! Every client, home, and situation is different. It's important to find the right coverage for each person's individual needs.

🏠 What’s your favorite type of insurance to work on?

Home insurance! Michelle enjoys helping clients find the right coverage to protect one of their biggest investments.

🍕 Favorite restaurant?

Trilogy Pizza in San Antonio — it's the closest thing to Chicago deep-dish pizza!

🏍️ Favorite winter activity?

Motorcycle rides in the cooler weather. It's something you can't do in the snow!

🥤 Coffee or energy drink?

Diet Coke. Diet Coke. DIET COKE! 😂

🌅 Morning person or night owl?

Definitely a morning person, although nothing beats sleeping in, too!

🏝️ Favorite vacation spot or dream destination?

Anywhere tropical with crystal-blue waters and white sand!

🏍️ Fun fact most people don't know?

Michelle is part of a motorcycle ministry! She doesn't ride her own bike — she's her husband's backpack. Her road name? Bubbles! 🫧

💡 One piece of insurance advice for clients?

Don't just shop for the cheapest price. Make sure you understand what you're paying for and that you have the coverage you need when you need it.

❤️ Anything else you'd like clients to know?

Michelle is a hugger! She believes a simple hug can go a long way in making someone feel welcome and cared for. She loves building relationships with clients and wants them to know they're more than just a customer.

Congratulations, Coach Sanders.

After multiple decades leading Canyon High School volleyball, Heather Sanders has announced her retirement after this season. That's a lot of practices, a lot of Friday nights in the gym, and a whole lot of young women who are better players and better people because of her.

We feel this one close to home. One of our very own played for Coach Sanders, while another coached under her. They'll tell you the lessons stuck long after the last whistle: show up, work hard, and take care of your teammates/coworkers.

Coaches like Heather are a big part of what makes New Braunfels feel like home. She gave this community her time, her energy, and her heart for a long time, and it showed. She left her mark on her athletes and her students alike, and our city is better for it.

Thank you, Coach. Enjoy every bit of what comes next. You've earned it.
