💀 Scammy Skeleton is wrapping up EastRise Scam Awareness Month with one last reminder about the anatomy of a scam. Many scams follow the same spooky script...

🦴 Initial Contact - A text, call, email, or social message appears out of nowhere and could even impersonate another business or law enforcement.

🦴 Trust Building - The scammer acts friendly and builds confidence before making their move.

🦴 Call to Action - Suddenly there's an urgent request for money, personal information, or account access.

🦴 Execution/Compromise - A quick decision can lead to stolen information or financial loss.

If something feels off, always stop, research, and verify your source to make sure it's trusted before making a decision. The only thing that should be scary this season is the skeleton.

Tire donations have been collected, and tomorrow is the 21st annual tire sale with Wheels For Warmth!

We’re proud to stand along dedicated volunteers and organizations to raise proceeds for Vermont families to heat their home this winter.

Stop by the Vermont Granite Museum in Barre or Casella Construction in Pittsford from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on October 31st to find tires for sale.

Since 2005, Wheels for Warmth has raised over $900,000 for emergency fuel assistance, sold 27,000 safe donated tires, and recycled 53,000 unsafe tires. Volunteers from over 120 companies and organizations have donated over 25,000 volunteer hours.

Emergency heating assistance is provided by BROC Community Action, Capstone Community Action, CVOEO, NEKCA - Northeast Kingdom Community Action, and Southeastern Vermont Community Action

You could say our team was pumpkin-spiced and community-approved at this year's Maple Street Pumpkin Palooza!

Supporting local events isn't just something we do, it's part of who we are (even if it means standing next to a pyramid of 750 pumpkins).

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the EastRise tent. We hope you left with a sweet treat and a smile!

As colder weather settles into Vermont, it's a good time to take a closer look at how you're heating your home. ❄️

With the National Energy Assistance Directors Association projecting that oil-heated homes could face significantly higher heating costs this winter, taking steps now to improve efficiency can make a meaningful difference for your comfort and your budget.

In the latest blog post, our Green Business Development Manager shares practical guidance on when it makes sense to repair, maintain, or replace your HVAC, heat pump, or wood pellet heating system. Tap the link in the comments to read the full blog.

Let's work together to stay warm, save energy, and reduce the impact of heating costs this season.
