It’s been a while since I’ve taken a true PTO day, like a PTO day where the phone and emails are turned off kind of day, and today felt like the right occasion.

Our oldest son, a 7th grader, had qualified for the ND State Cross Country competition earlier in the season and today was the day.

There was 345 runners in just the boys division! Carter ran a steady race (as he always does) and was smiling the whole way. He was seconds off of a PR, but he’s not bothered by one thing at the moment, he’s just happy to be there.

Cross country is so fun to watch, and also exhausting to watch 😅 but I’m so proud of him. His positive attitude is just as consistent as his running pace. 🏃
