I crave my mother’s American chop suey every so often. She used to make it for my kids on Tuesdays when she would watch them, so it always brings me right back to those days.

After canning tomatoes this week — another thing that always reminds me of my mom — I decided it was time to make a pot.

Made with my own home-canned tomatoes and a few little touches of my own. So delicious. So comforting. So nostalgic. ❤️🍅

A little sneak peek at what’s been happening in my kitchen… ❤️

I’ve spent the weekend getting ready for tonight’s Southwest Burrito Buffet at Rowley Country Club, and I may have gotten a little carried away. 😂

Fresh Salsa Roja, Pico de Gallo, Pickled Red Onions, Lime Tajín Crema, Fresno Hot Sauce, Mango Hot Sauce — all made from scratch and all From Mary’s Kitchen.

And that brings me to something I’m really excited to finally share…

From Mary’s Kitchen Friday Drops are coming!

Starting next Friday, I’ll be offering a small selection of freshly made foods each week. The menu will change from Friday to Friday depending on what’s in season, what I’m cooking — and probably whatever I’m craving that week. 😊

Everything will be made by me, in small batches, with the same fresh ingredients and care that go into the food I make for family, friends and events.

And since our very first Friday Drop happens to kick off Labor Day weekend, I’m starting with three things made for an easy summer weekend — whether you’re headed to the beach, out on the boat, off to the lake house, having friends over or just staying home:
