🚨Clay County Farm Bureau Insurance, Wilkinson Jr High Employee of the Month Award🚨

Ms. Quiros Gaeton (Ms. Q) at Wilkinson Jr High is the head of the math department, volunteers on the Chain Gang for our football games, and is the sponsor of the math club. All that on top of her being an innovative, creative teacher who leads her department with enthusiasm, passion, and kindness. She LOVES the students, is an incredible leader and is very deserving of the recognition.

If you have walked past Devil’s Diner lately, you have smelled the incredible proof of Chef Brian Marti’s impact on our campus. Since taking over the culinary program, Chef Marti has transformed it into a powerhouse of hands-on learning, elevating both student skill and school spirit.
Chef Marti does far more than teach basic recipes, he equips his students with the real-world skills needed to run and manage a full-scale restaurant. Under his expert guidance, Devil’s Diner has become a campus hotspot, serving up world-class meals that rival local professional establishments. His classroom acts as a true working kitchen, instilling discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a passion for the culinary arts that will follow his students far beyond high school.
His dedication to the school community goes well beyond the kitchen doors. Ahead of our first home game, when the student and faculty tailgate needed a chef on short notice, Chef Marti immediately stepped up. He volunteered his time and expertise without hesitation, ensuring the event was a massive success and setting an energetic tone for the whole season.
Chef Marti exemplifies what it means to be an educator: passionate, selfless, and deeply invested in student success. Congratulations to Chef Brian Marti on a well-deserved Teacher of the Month honor!

🚨Clay County Farm Bureau Insurance, GCJ Employee of the Month Award🚨

We are excited to announce Mrs. Anne Slater for our August GCJ Employee of the Month! Mrs. Slater is new to GCJ this year and the role of ELA Support Facilitator, but comes to us with 30 years of classroom experience. Over the last few weeks, Mrs. Slater has done such a tremendous job working with and supporting our ESE students, teachers, and admin team. She definitely brings her "A" game every day as she works long hours to build processes that will help our ESE department run smoothly while still pushing into classrooms and helping teachers so they are prepared when students walk in the door. We appreciate and value her passion for student learning and success and we are so glad she joined our team!

Ms. Keaton has been selected as the Clay County Farm Bureau’s Teacher of the Month! Ms. Keaton is recognized for her dedication in teaching the basics of early childhood education and her hard work teaching culinary. She can be seen around campus supporting our FFA and at sports games. She is always smiling and lending a helping hand!

Mrs. Ortega has hit the ground running this year, jumping headfirst into her co-teaching partnership with Mrs. Allsup and creating a classroom dynamic where students are inspired to dream big and reach higher. We are excited to announce Ms. Gomez as our April GCJ Employee of the Month!! As an 8th grade Science teacher and someone who has an absolute passion for learning, Ms. Gomez never stops at pushing her students to learn and be successful. She is thorough in her teaching and lesson planning, creating engaging lessons that help students truly understand challenging science benchmarks. Throughout the year, she provides students with many hands-on learning experiences that make difficult concepts more meaningful and memorable. During her planning period, you can often find Ms. Gomez in her classroom working one-on-one with students, helping them master benchmarks, complete assignments, and building their confidence. Ms. Gomez also takes the initiative each quarter to celebrate student success by hosting an ice cream party for students who are excelling in her class. Her commitment to both academic excellence and positive student relationships makes her a true asset to our school, and we are so proud to recognize Ms. Gomez as our April GCJ Employee of the Month!

Mr. Carter teaches Environmental Science and Astronomy. He is deeply involved with our students as a cosponsor of the Link Crew, which is an initiative that leads and welcomes our 9th grade students. He also co-leads our pep-rallies and announces at all our home baseball games. He has an incredible connection with our students and provides amazing energy and positivity throughout our school!
