Top off the washer fluid, test the headlights and take a look at the tire tread. Toss an umbrella and a light blanket in the trunk while you’re at it. Those little tasks are much nicer to handle at home than halfway through a fall outing.

It might sound like cheers under the Friday night lights. It might look like muddy shoes after a pumpkin patch trip, a bag of apples from the farmers’ market or a long conversation with a neighbor on the front porch.

Your camera roll probably has a photo of last weekend’s lunch. Does it have a current photo of your living room? 📸

The next time you have a few minutes at home, take a slow walk from room to room and photograph the things you’d want to remember: furniture, jewelry, tech and the keepsakes with stories behind them. Put the photos together in a folder you can find later.

Consider this your excuse to photograph that shelf you finally got looking just how you like it.

A fresh month calls for a little home reset. 🍂 Before the calendar fills up with pumpkin patches and Halloween plans, pick one small task to tackle this weekend.

Clear the leaves collecting in the gutters, test the outdoor lights now that evenings are darker, or swap out the HVAC filter. You don’t have to do all three at once. One crossed-off task still feels pretty good.

While you’re loading bags into the car, take a few minutes to check the tire pressure and clear the windshield. Bring water and a phone charger, and make sure your roadside numbers are somewhere you can find them.

Then it’s time for the fun part: picking the first stop. Are you headed somewhere this weekend, or enjoying a drive with no destination in mind?
