What would your retirement look like today if someone had invested consistently for you from age 5 to age 18 and then simply let time do the work?

Most parents and grandparents understand how difficult it can be to save for a child's future. While 529 plans remain a valuable tool for education funding, Trump Accounts are designed with a different objective in mind: helping children build long-term investment wealth through decades of compounding. These accounts allow annual contributions for children under age 18 and are invested in broad U.S. stock market index funds.

For many families, this creates an interesting planning opportunity. Parents and grandparents can potentially combine long-term investing with gifting and estate planning strategies to help transfer wealth to future generations while providing children with something many investors wish they had more of—time.

The real power isn't the account itself. It's the possibility of investing early and allowing compound growth to work over 40, 50, or even 60 years. While past performance is no guarantee of future results, history has shown how powerful long-term market investing can be when given enough time.

As financial professionals, we often help clients prepare for retirement. But perhaps an equally important question is:

What can we do today to help our children and grandchildren prepare for theirs?

If you'd like to discuss how Trump Accounts, gifting strategies, and other planning techniques may help create generational wealth opportunities for your family, I'd be happy to have a conversation about how these ideas might fit within your broader financial and estate planning goals.
