Monday, 10/19 marked 12 months since I broke my ankle. It's been a hard journey and a rough road but I had unbelievable support. Outside of that, it affirmed my resolve in why insurance is a MANDATORY conversation with my clients. Here's the numbers:

Surgery: Insurance paid $27,122
Physical Therapy: Insurance paid $4,025
Disability Insurance: $6,695

And then there are all the other random visits and other medication and all that which is over $1,200 (that I had documentation for)!

Insurance is a scam until it makes a $39,000 swing in your balance sheet for one incident.

PS: Completed that 10K I promised myself I would do hobbling into PT at the start of the year.
