FYI:
Assessed values have gone up in some areas of Jefferson County and that means your Fall tax bills will, too.
Last month, 54,448 residential properties were reassessed for 2026 property taxes, including the areas of Anchorage, Norton Commons, Prospect, Middletown, Lake Forest, Hustbourne, and Douglass Hills.
The assessments do not take into account an individual property’s condition and characteristics. Assessments are based on comparable sales of renovated properties of a similar home type.
You may appeal your new assessed value until the deadline of May 18 at 4 p.m.
Appeal via the online conference tool at www.jeffersonpva.ky.gov
You must submit supporting documents to appeal, including photos (close up and zoomed out) of property issues or conditions, insurance policies (does not include land value typically), appraisals (maximum 2 years old) and sales comparisons (must use worksheet on the PVA website - link below).
