Taylor Swift is responsible for you paying a higher interest rate. Sorta kinda, read below!

Every day the market reacts to different financial news all over the world. One of the reasons we are seeing a slight increase in rates this morning is due to the United Kingdoms inflation numbers not coming down as much as expected.

One of the major factors having an effect on inflation in the UK is hotel prices. Hotel prices have skyrocketed due to Taylor Swifts concert series through the UK. While we know that Taylor Swift is not solely liable for high interest rates, it is a great example of the numerous factors that can affect your mortgage payment.

The verdict is in folks!

"As expected, the Fed announced no change in the federal funds rate for the third consecutive time this year, and it will be important to monitor the market, especially the inflation rate, and see what happens at the next Fed meeting on June 12, 2024."

Long story short, due to higher than expected inflation thus far in 2024 the Fed is not going to reduce rates. They will meet again 6 weeks from today and announce another decision. While this is not ideal for future homebuyers, there are still a ton of options on how to get the most bang for your buck when buying a home.
