Our hearts and prayers are with the families, employees, and friends affected by the tragic implosion at Nippon. This loss is felt deeply across our community, and we stand united in support of all who are grieving.

The Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council along with the Longview/Kelso Building Trades Council has established an account at our credit union to help the AWPPW Local collect funds for the affected families. If you’re able, please consider contributing—every act of generosity makes a meaningful difference.

You can come into the credit union to donate or you can mail
your donation to 629 14th Avenue, Longview, WA 98632. Please make checks payable to the Cowlitz Wahkiakum Central Labor Council or CWCLC.

You can also make donations at Mint Valley Credit Union, PUD Credit Union, Red Canoe Credit Union and Fibre FCU. All local credit unions are working together to collect funds on behalf of CWCLC for the affected workers and families of Nippon.

Funds will be administered by the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers (AWPPW) Local 153. Families are encouraged to stop by the AWPPW Hall at 724 15th Avenue, Longview, WA or call (360) 423-2090 for more information.
