June 1st by the Numbers

We are on day 152 of the year.
There are 213 days left in 2026.

Since New Year’s, roughly 217,440 minutes have already passed.
That is 3,624 hours.
That is 151 full days behind us.

June 1st is a natural checkpoint.
The year is no longer just getting started. We are stepping into the middle stretch.

So today is a good day to pause and ask:
What have I done with the first 151 days?
What needs more attention?
What goals still matter?
And what can I do now to make the next 213 days count?

Famous Birthdays on June 1st
Marilyn Monroe
Andy Griffith
Morgan Freeman
Heidi Klum
Alanis Morissette
Tom Holland

June 1st is more than a new page on the calendar. It is a reminder that there is still plenty of year left to make meaningful progress.

Happy Memorial Day

Today, we pause to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and remembrance.

Behind every name is a family.
Behind every sacrifice is a story.
Behind every freedom we enjoy is someone who was willing to give everything.

To the fallen heroes who never made it home, we honor you.

To the families who carry their memory, we thank you.

May we never take lightly the cost of the freedoms we have been given.

This Memorial Day, we remember. We honor. We are grateful.

Today I personally remember:
Kevin "Kevbo" Hudson, USAF
Reginald "Reggie" Jones, US Army
Louis "Louie" Murtha, USAF

May 11th by the Numbers

Today is May 11th.

That means we are on day 131 of the year.
There are 234 days left in 2026.
Since New Year’s Day, roughly 187,200 minutes have already passed.

That is 3,120 hours.
That is 130 full days behind us.
So here is the real question:

What have you done with the year so far?
Have you moved closer to the goals you set in January?
Have you taken care of your health?
Have you spent time with the people who matter most?
Have you made progress financially, personally, spiritually, or professionally?

The point is not to feel behind. The point is to realize there is still a lot of year left.

234 days is enough time to change habits, rebuild momentum, start something new, repair relationships, get organized, and make real progress.

May 11th is a good checkpoint. Not a finish line. A reminder:
The year is moving. Make sure you are moving with it.

Happy Birthday to:

Sabrina Carpenter
Prince Royce

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms.

Today is a day to recognize the women who carry so much, often without anyone seeing the full weight of it.

The early mornings. The late nights. The schedules. The sacrifices. The encouragement. The discipline. The love. The constant showing up.

Moms are often the foundation of the family, the steady voice in chaos, and the person everyone turns to when life gets hard.

To every mother, grandmother, stepmom, mother figure, and woman who has helped raise, guide, support, or love someone like her own: thank you.

Your impact is bigger than you know.

Happy Mother’s Day.

March Madness is here… and it’s basically investing in disguise.

Everyone fills out a bracket thinking they’ve cracked the code, until the upsets hit.

Sound familiar?

That’s exactly how people approach the market:

Chasing what’s hot
Overreacting to recent wins
Making confident guesses in an unpredictable game

A few quick lessons from the bracket:
Upsets are guaranteed → Markets will surprise you

Don’t chase last game’s winner → Past performance isn’t everything

Balance your picks → Diversification matters

Play to win the whole thing → Think long-term

The goal isn’t to be right every time.
It’s to have a strategy that works over time.

So while your bracket is falling apart…
make sure your financial plan isn’t built the same way.

Last night in the World Baseball Classic, the final pitch of the USA vs. Dominican Republic game told a story that goes far beyond baseball.

Full count.
Tournament on the line.
One pitch to decide it.

The slider came in… just a little low.

By the rulebook? Probably a ball.

But the batter didn’t swing.
He didn’t foul it.
He didn’t try to take the call into his own hands.

He let the umpire make the decision.

Strike three. Game over.

And oddly enough, that moment is exactly how good investing works.

In baseball, and in finance, there are moments when you think the call should go your way.

The market dips when it shouldn’t.
A stock moves irrationally.
Interest rates zig when everyone expected a zag.

You can yell at the umpire.
You can swing at pitches out of the zone.
You can try to force the outcome.

But the best players, and the best investors, don’t.

They trust the system.

They know the strike zone is bigger than one pitch.
They know the game is longer than one at-bat.
They know discipline beats emotion.

Because if you start swinging at every borderline pitch…

You stop playing your game.

Baseball teaches patience.
Finance rewards it.

One pitch doesn’t define a career.
One market swing doesn’t define a plan.

Sometimes the ball misses the corner.
Sometimes the ump calls strike three anyway.

The professionals tip their helmet, walk back to the dugout…
and get ready for the next at-bat.

Had the honor of attending the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, March 12th. Such an awesome experience and definitely a bucket list item. Was then able to knock off another bucket list item by going to Madison Square Garden to watch some of the Big East Tournament.

Thank you to my partners for the invite and and new friends made in NYC.
