Are you confident your insurance coverage will actually cover what you need—when it matters most?

In this edition of Ask An Agent, Janelle White breaks down a crucial (and often overlooked) detail: the difference between actual cash value and replacement cost coverage.

📉 Actual Cash Value (ACV) takes depreciation into account—meaning you could receive far less than what it costs to replace your item today.

📈 Replacement Cost Coverage, on the other hand, helps you replace your items with new ones of similar kind and quality—without factoring in depreciation.

Think about it: that TV you bought years ago might only be valued at $50 today under ACV… but replacing it could cost $2,000. That gap can come as a big surprise if your policy isn’t set up the way you expect.

✅ Pro tip from Janelle: Review your insurance coverage every 2–3 years to ensure you’re still properly protected and your policy reflects your current needs.

Have questions about your coverage? We’re here to help you make sense of it all.

In observance of Memorial Day, our office will be closed for the full day on Monday, May 25, as we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We will return to regular business hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

As you enjoy the long holiday weekend, here are a few insurance tips to keep in mind:
✅ Secure outdoor furniture, grills, and décor before heading out
✅ Drive safely—holiday weekends often mean more traffic on the road
✅ If traveling, double‑check your auto and renters/homeowners coverage
✅ Never leave vehicles unlocked when parked at events or campsites

We wish you and your family a safe, reflective, and enjoyable Memorial Day.
