🔥 THIS is why homeowners are so often underpaid on insurance claims!

Yesterday, I attended a field inspection for a HOUSE FIRE claim. The insurance company’s adjuster spent just 15 MINUTES inspecting the property. 🤯

How can anyone properly document fire, smoke, soot, structural damage, and the full scope of necessary repairs in 15 minutes?

You can’t accurately estimate what you haven’t thoroughly inspected!

The result? Incomplete estimates, missed damages, underpaid claims, and unnecessary delays while everyone fights to correct what should have been documented the first time.

Homeowners deserve a thorough investigation and a fair settlement—not a 15-minute walkthrough!

There are TWO things I absolutely HATE doing as a Public Adjuster…

1️⃣ Breaking the bad news. Telling a homeowner that their insurance policy provides limited coverage—or worse, NO coverage—and that they may not receive a dime for their claim. Those are tough conversations.

2️⃣ Contents inventories after a house fire. Climbing through a burned-out home, documenting what’s left of someone’s personal belongings. It’s dirty, exhausting, and sometimes heartbreaking.

Neither is enjoyable. Both are necessary.

Being a Public Adjuster isn’t always about fighting insurance companies and getting claims paid. Sometimes it’s about delivering the truth, doing the difficult work, and helping homeowners navigate one of the worst experiences of their lives.

It’s not always fun… but it’s part of the job.

Thinking about buying homeowners insurance directly from Kin Insurance?

No insurance agent. No middleman. Sounds convenient, right?

⚠️ But what are you agreeing to before you hit that final button?

A disclosure in the purchasing process reportedly requires homeowners to agree to restrictions on hiring a PUBLIC ADJUSTER if they ever have an insurance claim!

Think about that. You’re purchasing insurance to protect your biggest investment, but you may be agreeing to limit who can represent YOUR interests when something goes wrong!

🚨 SPENDING CREEP: When Your Insurance Claim Turns Into a Home Renovation! 🏠💸

One of the biggest mistakes homeowners make during the insurance repair process is spending MORE than the insurance company is paying!

A homeowner had their kitchen floor trenched for plumbing repairs. We were pursuing replacement of the continuous tile flooring throughout the first floor.

PLOT TWIST! 👀

The homeowner never mentioned they had a few DOZEN spare tiles sitting around!

Then I get a call from the contractor telling me they’re using those tiles to repair the trench instead of replacing the entire first floor! 🤯

So here’s my question…

💰 If you’re pursuing insurance money to replace an entire floor but know you’re only repairing a small section, where do you draw the line?

Having spare tiles isn’t fraud. But knowingly misrepresenting the repairs being performed to collect additional insurance money? That’s a different conversation.
