A Face of Our Future: Dirk Margheim
Sometimes the right fit takes time to find. For Dirk Margheim, Creative Production Manager at the Alexandria Corporate Office, the search led him to RoyOMartin and to work that finally matched who he is.
"I'm motivated by being useful," Dirk says. "It took me a long time in life to find my best set of gifts. I was lucky to find a place where there was a good fit for my particular gifts, where I could feel useful." That sense of purpose shapes how he measures success. "Some people find value in a small number of really big accomplishments. I find value in a high number of small accomplishments. Being useful over time is meaningful."
For Dirk, RoyOMartin also represents something he does not take lightly: stability. Having worked for organizations that are no longer around, he understands what it means to build a career somewhere with a real future. "I like knowing the company is going to be around if I invest a career here. I feel good about the future."
His advice to young people entering the workforce is built on what he has seen over the years.
"Be patient. Keep your nose down, learn and grow. Loyalty to an organization compounds. Over time, there will be a bigger payoff." He believes the instinct to leave for greener pastures can cost more than it gains. "A lot of people step out thinking the grass is greener somewhere else and find out it really is not. If you stay in the game, keep your head down, and deliver, you get rewarded for that."
His message is simple.
"Find the place that has a track record of rewarding loyalty. Then grow inside of it."
That kind of thinking reflects what it means to be part of RoyOMartin's future. It takes people who invest, stay, and build something that lasts.
