We have been made aware of phone scams where callers pose as a representative of a financial institution and ask for sensitive information such as passwords, PIN numbers and account numbers.
If you receive an unsolicited call from someone claiming to be from your financial institution, the safest course of action is to ask for the person’s name and call the institution back directly. Do not rely on caller ID being correct. Criminals can also spoof phone numbers.
