That “Medicare” call could be a scam.

Scammers ramp up during open enrollment, often spoofing caller ID to look like Medicare or another government agency. Medicare won’t call out of the blue to say your coverage is being canceled or charge you for a new Medicare card.

Open enrollment is a prime time for other scams, too, including fake websites, paid search ads that mimic official sites, and “health plans” that are really discount programs.

🚩 Be cautious if someone:
• Asks for your Social Security or bank information just to provide a quote
• Charges for Marketplace Navigator or SHIP assistance
• Shows up at your home without an invitation
• Pressures you to enroll immediately or offers cash or expensive gifts

If something doesn’t feel right, hang up and contact Medicare directly using the number on this image.
