Having health insurance doesn’t always mean a small hospital bill.

Your plan has an annual out-of-pocket maximum, which can give you a better idea of how much you may have to spend on covered, in-network care. In 2026, the federal limit for self-only coverage can be as high as $10,600.

That’s why it’s worth checking your plan before an unexpected hospital stay happens.
Hospital Indemnity Select can provide an additional cash benefit for a covered hospital admission, with options offering up to $10,000 per admission. That money can help when medical expenses start adding up.

** Benefits, limitations, exclusions and availability vary by plan and state. Hospital indemnity insurance is supplemental coverage and is not a substitute for major medical insurance.

Are you paying more for health insurance than you need to?

If you’re self-employed, work as a 1099 contractor, pay for your family’s coverage, or contribute a significant amount toward an employer plan, it may be worth comparing your options.

I help individuals, families, and small business owners compare Private PPO, ACA Marketplace, and other health insurance options based on what actually matters to you: your doctors, healthcare needs, prescriptions, budget, and priorities.

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Your current plan may already be your best fit, or there could be another option that offers better coverage, a better price, or both.

The first step is simply knowing what’s available. A quick comparison can help you make sure you’re not paying more than you need to for the coverage you want.

If you currently have an Obamacare/ACA health insurance plan, there is an important number you need to know as we look ahead to 2027.

For the 2027 plan year, the federal maximum annual out-of-pocket limit for self-only coverage is increasing to $12,000 per person. That is up from $10,600 in 2026.

For coverage other than self-only coverage, the federal maximum is $24,000.

⚠️ But here is the part I really want you to understand:
That does not mean every ACA plan will have a $12,000 deductible or that everyone will pay $12,000.

The deductible and the out-of-pocket maximum are two different things. Your deductible is generally what you pay before certain plan benefits begin sharing costs with you. Your out-of-pocket maximum is the most you can be required to pay during the year for covered, in-network essential health benefits through applicable deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.

And $12,000 is the federal maximum, not necessarily the amount your specific plan will have.

That is exactly why simply choosing the plan with the lowest monthly premium may not be the best move.

Before you automatically renew your current plan for 2027, let’s review your options. 📲770-527-5598 🌎https://insurancenana.com

Do You Know What Your Prescriptions Are Really Costing You?

One thing I encourage my clients to review is their prescription coverage. It is easy to assume that because you have health insurance, your medications will automatically be affordable. Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

Your plan’s formulary, pharmacy network, deductible, and copays can all affect what you pay at the pharmacy counter. Even where you fill a prescription can sometimes make a difference.

I help my clients understand these details before they turn into an unexpected expense. We can look at questions like:
• Are your medications on your plan’s formulary?
• Are you using an in-network or preferred pharmacy?
• Does your deductible apply to prescriptions?
• Is there a lower-cost alternative you can ask your doctor about?

Health insurance should not just be something you have. You should understand how to use it.

If you are confused about your prescription benefits or want to make sure your coverage fits your healthcare needs, reach out. I am happy to help you make sense of it. 📲770-527-5598 🌎https://insurancenana.com
