Replacement Cost and Actual Cash Value may sound similar, but they can result in very different claim payments. ⚠️

Here’s the easiest way to remember the difference:

Replacement Cost = the cost of a similar new item today
Actual Cash Value = the item’s current value after age and wear

For example, imagine your 8-year-old couch is damaged in a covered loss.
With Replacement Cost coverage, the claim may be based on the cost of buying a similar new couch today.

With Actual Cash Value coverage, the claim may be based on what your 8-year-old couch was worth right before the loss.

Your deductible and policy terms still apply, and every claim depends on the specific policy and circumstances.

Meet our Mutts of the Month! 🐾

As a proud ongoing partner of Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue, we’re excited to introduce two adorable friends currently searching for their forever homes: Cody and Iceman. 💙💛

🐶 Cody is a fan favorite around Mostly Mutts—and it’s easy to see why! This lovable guy enjoys playing, going on walks and hikes, and spending time with other dogs. He’s gentle with children, gives plenty of kisses, and loves curling up in your lap. Just look at that face! Cody would make a wonderful companion.

🐱 Iceman is as sweet as he is handsome. He loves spending time with his people and watching the world go by. He’s the kind of cat who wants to stay close, soaking up plenty of love and attention. Iceman prefers to be the only cat in the home, and whoever adopts him will gain a devoted and loving companion.

Do you know what COI stands for? If you own a business, it’s one insurance document worth knowing. 🧐

A Certificate of Insurance, or COI, serves as proof of insurance for a business.

For example, imagine you own a contracting company. Before you begin work, the property owner may ask for a COI to confirm that your business carries liability insurance.

A COI may show:
• The business name
• The insurance company
• Types of coverage
• Policy limits
• Effective and expiration dates

A COI provides a summary of coverage, but it does not replace the full insurance policy or automatically change what the policy covers. 🙂‍↕️
