Steamboat Group is proud to announce the promotion of Charlie McDermitt to Sr. Software Engineer!

Since joining the company, Charlie has played an important role in supporting technology initiatives across the organization. Through his technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and commitment to collaboration, he has consistently contributed to the success of the IT/IS team.

In his new role as Sr. Software Engineer, Charlie will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems and applications. He will also help support system performance, lead complex projects, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to ongoing improvements across the organization.

Charlie joined the organization in February 2019.

Texas Tech University’s official motto, “From Here, It’s Possible,” inspires generations of students and alumni. Three OSC team members volunteered at the 3rd Annual Raider Cup golf event to help support those dreams.

OSC’s SVP of Business Development Russell Hall, a Texas Tech alumnus, was this year’s event host and tournament director. The Raider Cup, hosted by the Texas Tech Alumni Association Collin County Chapter, is designed to raise scholarship funds for students from Collin County to attend Texas Tech University.

Two OSC team members - Katelyn Horn and Tiffany Hall - also volunteered their time through Steamboat Group’s Bettering the Community Initiative.

Juneteenth, an annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, serves as a time to honor freedom and reaffirm our commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Justin leads Steamboat Group’s technical support operations by overseeing system performance, troubleshooting complex technology issues, strengthening infrastructure reliability, and ensuring employees and clients receive dependable day-to-day IT support. His role also includes managing technology improvements, supporting operational efficiency initiatives, and contributing to the continued growth of Steamboat Group’s technical capabilities.

Justin is a skilled technology professional with extensive experience in network engineering, systems support, cybersecurity initiatives, and infrastructure management. Throughout his career, he has supported large-scale technology environments, modernized network systems, strengthened security operations, and helped organizations improve efficiency through proactive technical solutions and process improvements.

Known for his strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative leadership style, Justin brings a thoughtful and hands-on approach to technical operations. His background includes experience with enterprise networking, cloud-based systems, troubleshooting advanced connectivity issues, and supporting fast-paced technical environments with professionalism and precision.
