It's that time of year—let’s get the kids outside to pick up garbage and help keep our Earth clean! This year, as a special reward for their efforts, each child will receive a 3-4 ft Littleleaf Linden tree. Not only will this encourage environmental stewardship, but it also gives them a chance to nurture and grow their own tree for years to come. Join us in making a positive impact on our community and planet!

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
Governor’s Legacy Soil Health & Habitat Program – Applications Open Through March 27
North Dakota landowners now have the opportunity to enroll marginal cropland into perennial grass through the Governor’s Legacy Soil Health and Habitat Program, a new statewide initiative focused on improving soil health, increasing water retention, and enhancing wildlife habitat.
This voluntary, five‑year program offers:
• Annual payments for enrolled acres
• Cost‑share assistance for establishing perennial grass
• Potential crop insurance premium reductions
• Local support through your Soil Conservation District and partner agencies
The program is funded through the Outdoor Heritage Fund and delivered locally by the ND Association of Soil Conservation Districts in partnership with the ND Game and Fish Department.

Who Should Apply?
Landowners with marginal or less‑productive cropland who are interested in converting those acres into perennial grass for long‑term soil and habitat benefits.

How to Get Started
Applications are being accepted now through March 27. If you are interested in enrolling acres or would like help reviewing eligibility, please stop in or give us a call. Local districts are actively assisting landowners with application materials and mapping requirements.
Our team is here to help ensure the process is smooth and that you have all required documents ready for submission.
