We are excited to be one step closer to providing our local seniors with a brand-new Downtown Huntsville building that they can call home.

Thank you WAFF 48 News for covering this milestone and helping us spread the importance of housing opportunities for everyone in our community.

https://www.waff.com/2026/05/28/residents-relocated-before-huntsville-summit-demolition/

The final residents have been moved out of the Huntsville Summit apartments, and crews will soon start tearing the building down and replacing it with a facility for local seniors.

We create and preserve accessible housing opportunities through community partnerships, federal tax credits, and grants. We are proud to provide over 1,200 homes to neighbors throughout the Southeast. ๐Ÿ

Housing affordability is about the people we serve. The most vulnerable seniors and low-to-moderate income families who have to work 96 hours a week at Alabama's minimum wage of $7.25 to afford a 1-bedroom rental home at Fair Market Rent (FMR)*.

Thank you to all those who work every day to make affordable housing a reality for our community.

While Migdalia and John-Michael won't be launching a food truck or catering business (๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ ๐˜ธ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜บ?), our team attends events like UAH SBDC APEX Small Business Development Center's recent "Starting a Food Truck Business" workshop to better serve our small business owners.

๐Ÿ’กWe bring back tips, tools, and connections that help entrepreneurs grow.

Attendees were in for a treat, hearing from SBDC Director Michelle Kloske and Huntsville entrepreneur Jonathan Hambrick, owner of Big Johnโ€™s BBQ & Company, who shared real-world lessons to help new business owners succeed sooner.

One of our favorite takeaways was Jonathan's emphasis on the importance of valuing people and honoring relationships. We couldn't agree more!

Our Loan Fund isn't just about capital; it's about partnering with our entrepreneurs every step of the way.

Thank you to the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville for hosting the Navigate Nonprofit Network Conference!

The NCI team enjoyed all the speakers, and the variety of topics covered finance, marketing, leadership, and so much more. There was something for everyone.

And the networking was spectacular! New connections were made, follow up lunches and coffees are already scheduled, and lots of reunions with friends. All this while learning new ways to better serve our community.

Is it too early to register for next year's conference? ๐Ÿ˜Š
