This one has me tearing up.

Nicholas bought his first house today. He’s 21. His mom, Kristy, and I have been friends since the third grade. I’ve literally known Nicholas since he was in his mother’s womb.

Two years ago, I had the privilege of helping his sister, Courtney, buy her home. And today, I got to sit at the closing table with Nicholas as he became a homeowner, too.

Watching this milestone made my heart so tender! Kristy and I grew up together. And now we’re watching our kids grow up, build lives of their own, and buy homes of their own.

I know I help people buy houses every day. It’s my job. But it never feels like just my job when someone who has known me for most of my life trusts me to guide her children through something this important.

What a privilege it is.

Nicholas, congratulations on your first home. I’m so proud of you and so grateful that you (and your mom) trusted me to be a small part of this chapter.
